Luxury seat belt clips

Just a random thought - can't help but notice that even the top of the range Mercs, Jags, Bentleys, Audis etc etc all seem to have the same stty seat belt connector / clip bit with a crappy piece of red plastic to act as the release.

Hopefully, someone will be able to prove me wrong and show me a phot of a decent high quality seat belt release, or at least confirm that it's because of a motoring elfin safety standard that states that seatbelts must confirm to a standard design, regardless of how cheap it looks.
