This morning, whilst stuck behind two lorries and a car with no way of getting past, a motorcycle came up behind me, overtook, and then hopped the car and lorries.

As he went by I remember thinking "I wish I had a bike, if only for the speed, thrill, and freedom it brings".

I went on to think that surely the definition of one of us, i.e. a petrolhead, is somebody who craves the above. You don't necessarily need to want a bike, as that is a very subjective thing, but surely just the things outlined above that it brings define us.

On the flip side, if your first thought was to be ", I hope he expires in a ball of fire" then you are surely not a petrolhead, but unfortunately 95% of Britain's motorists. Having said this, I could sense the hatred from some of the vehicles he overtook.

I often have a hankering for a bike, but I just know it would all end badly and I'd be removed from the tarmac with a mop and bucket.
