If you have an Amex card download the FourSquare app for your phone.

Check in at the garage and link your Amex card to the app...as soon as you pay £15 will be credited to your Amex account!

Seems like a no brainer - plus you get your regular 1.25% cashback as well if you have a Platinum Cashback Card on top of this!

Yup... except that it only works once per card, and is immediately cancelled out by the cards £25 annual fee.

You have 2 cards as a couple - so you can use it twice.

As for the fee - £25 is absolutely nothing compared to the 1.25% cashback you receive over the year.

You also get the first year free anyway when you go through this link: Platinum Cashback Card with £25 Cashback. wink

The Shell offer is not the only one...

Spend £50 in House of Frasier - get £25 back.
Spend £50 in Gap - get £25 back.
Spend £30 in Pizza Express - get £15 back.

The small fee is more than outweighed by the benefits IMO. smile

Dare I ask how much of my personal information gets forfeited to these guys? Only as having it linked to my credit card is surely asking for trouble?

I have a 'free' amex card, it works on that as well... you don't need to pay for the premium card w/ cashback if you don't want to. I mostly use a mastercard so not much point for me.

Used this yesterday though, nice & simple to setup! Finally some change from £90!

All they get is what you put in to the app.

People use it much like Twitter/Facebook.

If you don't give them anything - they will have nothing. smile

Yes but Amex is universally hated. In the year I had mine I lost count of either the number of venders who wouldn't accept it, or that added a 1% or 2% surcharge for using it, especially in the US.

It's accepted at every major supermarket...petrol station...high street store...airlines/hotels and most restaurants.

Surely this is where 90% of anyones spending goes?

Just had another look on FourSquare and loads of the Amex Specials seem to have gone - the only one I can see is the Debenhams one.

Before I had House Of Frasier...Shell...Gap...

Has this happened to anyone else?
