How much will road tax be on...

A Danbury camper van. It's a 1.6l, air-cooled 55 reg based on a standard VW T2 camper. We're looking at buying one but want to check how much the tax will be on it.

edit - I've tried all the normal sites online to find out and they all want the make and model, not just the reg, and none of them have Danbury as a make on the lists, plus it doesn't come under VW!

search google for car tax online then goto dvla site using the link provided and type in the reg number

You got in there just before the edit!! Can't do that, it needs the make/model which doesn't appear on the list!

hmmmm, reg number doesn't work? I take it you've tried ringing the DVLA to see what they say?

It'll be registered as a VW - select that on the taxdisc website.

Not yet, that's the next port of call if the PH wizards didn't come up trumps! (I bloody hate phoning them lot!)

Huh?!?! I swear blind I did just that and it threw a wobbler at me - just tried again and it worked! You are clearly a witch.

It's come up with the right one - £220.00 for the year. Half the price of my M3 and twice the vehicle!

Maybe swap the E46 motor into the T2?

Ooooh, I like!! Unfortunately, the combination of her being in the family way and my love for getting away at the weekends whenever possible means the M3 is on its way out and not many people will pay me £9k for a 1.6 air cooled M3!
