economical bangernomics
Discussion
My daily commute is now somewhere in the region of 55 miles a day and my Disco just isn't cutting the mustard right now with less than 28mpg (@ diesel prices!!!). It's 90% B roads too so at the minute its less than exciting in a lumbering 4x4.
So, looking for a semi-economical banger, I.e. less than £1000, that I can run to work in most days which offers at least somewhat of a modicum of excitement on the B roads at 6am.
Any suggestions???

good economy, great build quality, built like a tank, and surprisingly good to drive.
this one is relatively new and has relatively few miles on it too.
plus it will literally last forever.
