Two years ago i received two MS90 convictions totalling 12 points. the court at the time allowed me to drive on.

however, money was tight and i didnt declare this to my insurance.

two years later now i've been involved in a minor accident which was my fault, no one was injured. now the insurance has asked for a copy of the driving licence and no doubt the points will show up.

so what next? most likely my insurance set to be cancelled? and then?

I would imagine prison, or at the very least, a lengthy community service order.

Driving without a licence invalidates all insurances. Thank fk you didn't hit a child, you utter prat.

ETA - just re-read your post and missed the bit about the court allowing you to keep your licence - my bad. I would still imagine that you will be rogered as you won't be insured for non-declaration.

I suspect it'll go like this.
The 3rd party is covered by your insurance. You certainly are not. And your insurance company will probably come after you for the cost of the 3rd party claim.

Declare to your insurance and if money is still tight after your premium rockets, assuming you can still get insurance, stop driving till you can afford to do it legally.

I don't think this is the best place to aks for advice under the circumstances, wait to be flamed.

Technically if the court didn't strip him of his licence (I would imagine this was under the exceptional hardship clause) then he was driving on a licence. However your non disclosure of the points to your insurer is going to find your insurance invalidated, no claim will be paid and if they wanted to really push it they could go down the route of proceedings for deliberate Insurance fraud. Being an Insurance fraud investigator myself, thats what I would be pushing for. If you are exceptionally lucky (and your insurers underwriting department don't have a clue what they are doing)your insurer may decide this is an accidental non disclosure and still payout on your claim but at the same time remove you from cover from them going forward.

In layman's terms, you're screwed.

Public transport.

Why do people think it's their right to drive? If you can't afford the insurance stay off the road or buy something cheaper to insure. What if you hadn't have crashed, would you have told your insurance company when money wasn't tight?

I trust that by now you realize that you aren't capable of sensible driving?

Expect to see you on "Crime Watch" or similar.

Hope you don't live near me, or I might have to stop my love ones from venturing out in case you kill them!!!

It all seems a bit melodramatic in here today.
Basically all that will happen is that you will have to pay the cost of the claim which may be quite large.
I cant see any cicumstance in which this would involve the police.

This, with the added bonus that next time you try and get insured you'll be fked, as you will have to tell them that you've had insurance cancelled etc. and probably why. I doubt most insurers will go near you after this.

Serious question - why bother paying ANYTHING for insurance if you know that you have effectively invalidated it? I guess it's simply so you don't ping off ANPR all the time? But "money was tight" is no excuse. Buy a smaller car. Buy a moped. Whatever - but don't leave us lot who pay our dues to pick up your tab through increased premiums.

How about I turn up in your local, drink all night, then walk out, and point to you and tell the landlord "he'll pay my bill"? You wouldn't like that much, would you, but it's effectively exactly what you've done here.

I hope your punishment deters you from doing this again. I really do.

You miss the point. The police aren't involved or aware. The insurance company aren't going to tell them and even if they did they probably wouldn't be interested.
Its just not a police matter
