So on a rare Saturday off me thinks I`ll have a lazy sleepy morning.
Mrs H decides she`s going out and off she goes.
Excellent. All is quiet.
I hear my Z fire up, thats odd I think as she hates it ~~~~ oh yes I blocked everything in with it last night in something worthy of the bad parking thread.

Probly just shunting it around to get something else out ~ nope off she goes. 5 mins later I hear it coming back down the drive.

Doors slam ~ in she comes at full steam ~ "What`s wrong with that ****ing thing?"
"Hello dear, nothing ~ it was fine last night. What have you done to it?" (Unwise choice of words that, but I was half asleep).

Well, cue the wrath of Hades, an impressive rant of the "anything and everything counts" variety starting with something about an unidentified funny noise, having a wet arse (leaky targa), the inability to find Radio 1, the lack of petrol in it, and then on to random mentalness about being it being cold and seems to rev too high, being too low to the ground, she can`t see the end of the bonnet and its too wide, too noisy and it smells funny. I suspect those last comments may well have been about me.

Doors slam and off she goes again.
Nice darts.

Something about your wife having a wet arse, and it being your fault.

A mistake easily made.

Girls and cars...

The part time ex wasn't impressed with my 106 GTi.

"It's almost a classic - it's one the best handling cars I've owned!"

"It's ugly"

"It's so much fun, and cost next to nothing!"

"It's ugly. And for kids"

"It's a 1.6 and weighs nowt - so nippy!"

"It's ugly, it's for kids, and it smells"

And so on.

It's a nice day and, by the sound of it, if you leave the house you won't be getting back in for a while. Might as well sort it today - then you'll have somewhere dry to sleep tonight.

Typical woman.

I'd have gone with the offset pedals, the stty steering rack that gives bump steer, the shoddy plastic bits that should have been made from metal, the electrics, especially the electrics which make the dashboard lights go "disco", the bits which fall off, the stty welding on the sub-frame, the crap brakes....etc

Here we go, stage 2. Follow up nagging text messages. “So what is wrong with it?" Seeing as I haven't moved from the couch since she left I'm not sure quite how she expects me to know the answer so I'll go back with the standard response. "fk all"

I've only been married for 8 years, but I'm fairly sure the correct answer to defuse the situation when faced with this is grovelling hehe
