I bought a dog owner's 850 estate. The whole boot area including the headlining was thick with hair. I used one of these and it was brilliant, got all the hair out, way better than a hoover. Should help you remove it, don't think there's an easy way to prevent it, short of plastic sheeting, boot liner...... or a bottle of immac. smile

I had a set for the Legacy and now have a set in the Merc. It is impossible to stop it entirely other than regular vacuuming.

Boot liner. Plus a regular clean anyway to keep the smell away and any stray hairs removed.

The boot liner's also double up as a carpet and interior protector if you need to take stuff to the tip etc.
Mine covers the boot, both sides, the lower tailgate and the seat backs for the 2nd row. For £20 i can't complain. smile

i know its pretty hard not to get it everywhere even with a load cover but just wondered if there was something i could spray on the carpet to repel the hair somewhat so it hoovers easier?

The best way to get hairs out of the carpet is putting on a pair of yellow marigold rubber gloves and just rub your hands over the hair & it sticks to the glove & pulls out like magic! Found a video on youtube showing it & didn't believe it until I tried it!

I have a white dog & black boot carpet, removed 6 months of hair in 30 minutes with a yellow glove on one hand and hoover nozzle in the other thumbup

You can, but the answer is not what you will like to hear.

I got mine off a forum member on Disco3.co.uk he was selling some bits after selling his disco so got the proper LR dog guard and the load liner for £120 all in. smile

I was going to buy something from this site as it came recommended by several members but struck lucky in buying the 2nd hand bits above.
There should be something for your car on there. smile

We have a Hatchbag in the back of our Passat. Well made and does a great job of keeping the boot, back of the rear seats etc clean. The bumper protector helps prevent the bumper being scratched to hell
