Used MK7 Fiesta - what would you have done?
Discussion
OK, so Mrs VinceMwants a new car, and we decided on a Fiesta Mk7 preferably a 1.6 Titanium. Was looking around the 5k mark but increased that a little as she wanted a better car. Found a few suitable cars, and plannedto have a look this weekend.
Car A, exactly what we want. Low mileage, but arrive and car is dirty, interior like a pig sty. All buttons etc work, drives and price ok. Then ask to see paperwork, and see there is no service history, and seller not sure if it's been to Ford or not, there is a stamp in the book but not anything to do with service or dealer. And then check oil, remember a petrol car oil shouldn't be black, but it was also well below the minimum. Paintwork a little scruffy but I've seen worse. Made a low ball offer in view of the fact it needed a major service/inspection, potential new key and also low value due to apparant lack of s/h. Offer not accepted, walk away.
Car B - dealer car slightly older, same sort of money, with corresponding liberal use of the horrid stuff they coat everything in in the interior to make it super shiny. Nice but "full history" turned out to be one Ford stamp, one Kwif Fit stamp, car was just over 4 years old.
Car C - dealer car again, slightly older than Car A but less miles, a proper service history (all Ford), and a few nice extras, including keyless entry and parking sensors. Nicely prepared, no dents, alloys good. Test drive, deal done, couple of minor things to sort on it hopefully dealer will rectify.
So, did we pick the right car?
Your thoughts please. I happy with our choice, just wanted to know what you would have done.

I'm just curious - Car A might have been (slightly) cheaper yet newer than Car C but wondered if anyone thought the lack of history would put them off?
If the car was dirty and was like a pig sty inside - eventhough someone was trying to sell it - that alone should ring loud alarm bells. Car C sounded like the only decent 1 of the 3 tbh.
Best of luck with it.
