why does everything go wrong when you're due to sell?

Well next month my car is due to go. Off topic wbac.com have given me a more than reasonable quote!
So anyway recently my airbag light has been on and off - hopefully a warranty job.
However today is the last straw! Between 09:00-15:00 some twunt has hit my wing mirror and drove off! Reported to police but I doubt anything will come of it.
Its only the lense and bulb that has broke so going to try and see if I can replace it myself. Rang around a few garages and they only offer the full wing mirror.
I highly doubt it but on the off chance it's stainland road, holywell green if anyone saw it.
I have also noted a few of few have had as bad/worse luck than me when due to selling so I don't fell that down
