ok, maybe a bit geeky this one. But what rear lights/clusters have great bits of design and visual impact?

An obvious answer is a car in another of todays threads. The 3200GT with it's boomerang clusters.

I've always like the simplicity of some of the Corvette rear light units:

And somewhat left field and probably the only real positive attribute on the car is the Vauxhall Tigra. Not exactly great looking, but I loved how they formed the rear light unit to be part of the shape of the car and match the body profile.

The rear lights with sequential turn signals on US Fords and Mercuries were pretty cool.

I also liked the disco lights on the Mk IV Supra.

The "afterburner" look on the Jag S-type was great.

Not a fan of the current contrived shapes on modern cars, though.

R32 Skyline 2-door:

Facelift FC RX7 (I love these so much I have a set even though I don't have an RX7):

Dunno why, but somehow four round rear lights is just right.

Not that I'm very biased, I think these suit the car very nicely, but the main thing I love about them is incorporating the crease that runs all the way from the front ones smile

I'm probably "doing it wrong" as not all mine are strictly just the lamp clusters, but...

Love the rear light treatment on these

Some obligatory american iron

I always remember these as having great rear lights, although looking at them today perhaps they haven't aged that well...

I do like the way the rear lights & spoiler integrate on the new Cayman

Not forgetting of course the one design that spawned an entire industry around it;
