Scanner to help find my laguna's keyless entry key card

Hi all,
I've got a 2007 Renault Laguna. I've recently lost a key card and can't find it anywhere. We are pretty sure we left it in the usual place and my 1 year old has swiped it. She could have put it literally anywhere in the house and we just aren't able to locate it.
As it is a keyless entry card I was wondering if there was some sort of device / scanner I could get hold of to help me search. My theory is that because my car can detect when the key is within 5 feet of it (and let's me open the door), then there must be something else that can detect it's presence to within a few feet. It would make finding the key an awful lot simpler!
I hope people understand my logic (and that it is sound) and hope there is something you can recommend (short of driving my car through my house - Arnie / Rambo style)
