Rocket shed!! 0 to 60 in 5 secs for £1k.
Discussion
Well that damn MR2 Mk2 Shed thread the other week combined with idle fingers, a desire for a track toy and eBay resulted in a 92 MR2 Turbo with coilovers, decat, drift wheels etc sitting on my drive - all for just over £1k!! Classic car policy of £180 pa. Running about 250bhp - should be good for 0-60 in 5.
Let the fun commence
!
Anyone got any similar toys?

It's keeping the damn thing working that gets you
I bought my old kit car back from it's previous owner for a grand. It was working fine, bit of an oil leak from the sump gasket but it ran OK. I felt it could use a bit more power. It had a 1.6 EFi CVH in it, from a mid 90's Ford, it now has a 1.6 RS turbo engine in it, complete with hybrid turbo, chip and uprated injectors. It took a few months sourcing a decent engine block, having it built, overbored a bit and put in new pistons, rods and ground the crank out. New cam in the head as well
It probably wont hassle your MR2, but for 800'ish kilos at around 180 bhp, it's fun when it works. I kept breaking the oil return though, which after having the turbo rebuilt twice to stage 2 got a bit boring, so I had to have the sump welded. Touchwood, other than that, it seems to be OK.
Always fancied an MR2 NA or turbo after driving a mates. His was an import on a H plate, I'm not sure which rev that was bit it felt nice, didnt leak and was reasonably quick. Hope you enjoy yours, sounds like a steal for the money
