Spotted my first Mclaren MP4-12C
Discussion
Whilst driving home on Saturday saw the back end of a car I did not recognise, a few cars ahead.
Fortunately the two cars in front of me turned into side roads, so I was able to get a closer look, and it turned out to be an MP4-12C. Followed him for a few miles, and whilst it sounded great
he couldnt really give it any wellie, because he had a Nissan micra in front of him, and the road had too many twists and turns in it, to take a chance in an eight hundred thousand pound supercar. .....
Until that is, we came to a hump back bridge with priority given to the oncoming traffic. As is usually the the way the slow duffer, in the mouse motor went over the bridge, but was going so slowly there wasnt time for the Maclaren to do the same. which meant he had to wait until all the oncoming 25 or so cars had got across the bridge, which also meant the (almost straight) road after the bridge was completely duffer free!!!!. I sat there thinking please please give it some when you go Please Please. And he did! apart from the sound which was petrol head heaven (and rather loud) the car did one of the best real world impressions of the Delorean out of the back to the future film. One second it was there right in front of me, and about 3 seconds later, it was totally gone from sight. Absolutely great! What is the point of having a car like that, if you dont use it a little every now and then?

I live in an area where supercars are very rare to say the least, so whilst washing my car on Saturday afternoon what trundles down the road opposite? A Ferrari 458, very nice! You just don't see those around very often. Anyway, Sunday morning opening the curtains what's the first car I see trundling down the same bit of road as the Fezza a day earlier? An MP4-12C!! WTF!
You wait years to see something exotic go past your front door and...
Anyway FWIW the Mac sounded a bit louder and more bass-y than the Fez and they were going about the same speed approaching a junction.

I saw a black one on jubilee day
only for a split second though.. was going the other way on a properly twisty welsh b-road.. and I only had 3cyl's and 1.0l under the bonnet.. so giving chase was not an option
for the .5 of a sec that i could see and hear it though.. it was fantastic!!

I've seen about 30 on the road now and...sorry, but much like their nemesis, the Ferrari 458, they sound pants!
This is my favourite car sound at the moment...just flick to 1m 26 secs.
