Update on dash cams

Whats the real different with either purchasing a chinese clone or a more uk dash cam........im looking either going for

1) Roadhawk

2) GoPro

3) http://www.chinavasion.com/china/wholesale/Car_Acc...

Any input would be very much welcome

Hi Dump,

Thanks for starting this thread.

I've been thinking that a dash cam might be a worthwile investment.

The Roadhawk looks good and I like the idea of supporting a UK company.

Some of the videos from Russia lately have shown what you might be able to catch!

19 page thread running in GG with some good advice on it. I've had a 40 quid Chinese dash cam for a month or so and it's great.

Many PHers will know that I'm a fan of dash cams, even though mine's a cheap one. I tried it out and am looking to upgrade.
But beware ...
there seem to be a few posters on here who give us dash cam fans a bit of stick! Ignore them, show us some films and enjoy.

Sorry for going slightly off topic (ish), but why are people putting cams in their cars? I don't think I would want one in my motor, as I know at some point, I will have a moment of "watch this camera"

You forget about the camera very quickly. Nice to have in case of accident and other party lying about it. I hope never to need it.

Instead of starting another thread I thought it better to add to one of the many running threads.

After being involved in what I'm convinced was a crash for cash accident in April I'm now after a dash cam. Ideally something around £50 with built in GPS and capable of recording an hour or 2 of video. Considering one of the Chinese versions but is there a clear winner amongst any of these.

Feedback much appreciated.

The DR32 seems to be the most popular one at the moment, due to the picture quality and price.
Recording time will depend what card, resultion and frame rate you use. It has an impact sensor, but no GPS.
