I love the fact these three are going at it. Absolutely brilliant for car fans (even the questionable petrolheads among us that moan about everything on PH these days). Mclaren P1? "Not lairy enough" they say. Lamborghini Veneno? "Too bloody lairy" they say. The Ferrari? "I'd never buy it because of the bloody stupid name" they say. You couldn't make it up.

For me, P1 by a country mile.

How do you know that?

Porsche have published what the engine in the 918 makes at 8500rpm, but the engineers have also talked about the shift-up point being at 11,000rpm.

How do you know how fast it will be?

Or the Porsche, if the rules don't allow being even remotely sensible with the money. I don't like the look of the P1 and the Ferrari La Ferrari has a silly name (although apparently if you speak fluent Italian it isn't silly, which doesn't really help as no one I know speaks fluent Italian).

If I was to pick one of those three it would be the McLaren for various reasons. Am becoming increasingly uninterested in new Ferraris and the level of snobbery that they attract.

It is £34m on the lottery tonight. That would get you all those, the biggest cake you have ever dreamed of, the Porsche and you will have plenty to be sensible with!

918 please. They'll all be far too fast for the real world or anyone with less driving skill than the real Herr Rohrl so it comes down to which looks best really. To my eyes the 918 looks a bit less look-at-me, look-at-me overstyled than the others.
