Hi all,
I have auctioned four cheapies over the last few weeks, not one winning bidder has turned up and bought, is this the way things are on there now?
thanks

Maybe it's changed, I've sold loads of stuff on '£0 start auction, no reserve, no buy it now, buyer collects, cash on collection'

Haven't done for a couple of years though. But when I did I was always pleasantly surprised by the normality of the people who turned up.

People put a bid in on a number of cars, win them all and then pick which one they go for, if any.

Sadly its far too easy to fk people around on ebay and get away with it. There is no punishment for anything on there. Never has been. Until they fine non paying bidders, people will continue to not pay for stuff. Feedback is next to useless and anyone can create an account with any details they like. The whole site is a mess.

It's just people, in general they are muppets.

Slightly different but we refurbish alloys, my lads were at a dealer in central London last week, guy from posh flats on the river stops, asks a price, we book him in for this Tuesday, all four alloys on his BMW.

Have his address and contact no, so I send my van on a two hr drive, leaving at 5.30 am to get to his for the arranged time of 7.30-7.45.

Get to the gates of car park at his flash flats, ring him to let him know we are here, nothing, so leave a message and then ring his flat bell on the gate. No answer, my lads can see the car in the car park.

So, left him 2 messages asking him to call, nothing, not a bean, what a wker. Lads drove past today on way to the dealer nearby and his car has moved spaces so he's not dead in flat.

My experience on Ebay has been excellent both as a buyer and a seller. There are timewasters and there are many genuine buyers and sellers. I have sold many cars and never ever had a no turn up or no show. Always sold the car always had good feedback.

Obviously being absolutely clear in the advert that the car is SAS and with plenty of good clear photos which shows the actual car as it actually is and an accurate fair description description helps. I repeatedly suggest serious bidders come and see the car. Having said that there do seem to be a lot of dreamers about. And prices are ridiculously cheap. Take a look at the bargains on the PH Bangers/barges threads! Sign of the times?
