Do people in different areas drive differently....
Discussion
Just thinking, in Suffolk most of the people drive like Miss Daisy is in the back.
But when I visit friends in Kent, everyone seems to drive like they have a dodgem.
Yet I visit friends in Sussex and everyone is driving like they stole it.
So, do people in different areas drive in different ways!?!?

In the Glasgow area, I find that the driving standard in the South of the city is poorer than in the North of the city, things like lane discipline, running red lights, and blocking junctions when traffic is stationary seem worse, at one junction I use in the North there is textbook zip merging, and traffic flows well, at a similar one 5 miles away it's every woman for herself, especially as they always seem to be fecking texting.
When I travel South to London, it seems that roundabouts are treated like chicanes, with the entry speed getting faster as latitude decreases.
North of Glasgow, when it's not the tourist season, I find that people generally just want to get to where they are going with no hassle, especially as journeys tend to be longer, and things like single track roads are used properly to allow faster vehicles to overtake.
In the tourist season, not so much....

Absolutely.
Wiltshire is very strange, people will tailgate you through 30mph zones then as you enter NSL they seem to dissapear behind you, they wont go above high 40s it seems. M4 however is mega quick, you could be doing 3 figure speeds and have somebody bomb past you most days. Its not just the usual suspects either, you'll get stuff like boggo 207s and fiestas being absolutely thrashed along on the limit.
Devon is slow and everybody seems to leave a gap of at least a meter at traffic lights and roundabouts.
Cornwall is fairly slow due to damn tourists/elderly people taking it easy.
Bristol is just stupid. Nobody can drive it seems, city driving and people pulling out on you is normal, but in Bristol they do it about 2mph or hesitate halfway through, plus the bizarre driving habits around places like fishponds, mont pelier etc, the roads are far too small for the volume of traffic.
I like the hustle of driving around south London.

I'd say definitely, but I think it's as much as case of people driving differently in different conditions. Take the west end of Newcastle for example, which seems to be perpetually clogged with morons. Roundabouts are dispatched by entering with your eyes fixed straight ahead, everyone else can just give way. Mobile phones glued to the ear? Sure. Ipad on the steering wheel? Why not! Lane discipline does not exist there and running red lights is ok as long as you think you won't be held accountable if you hit anything.
On the other hand, take the A69 out of the west end and within minutes you'll be in the leafy Tyne valley, home to some of the best B roads in the country. The driving is much more relaxed, despite much higher average speeds, you don't see the aggression or bad manners as often. Is this a case of the local residents ingrained driving habits, or does driving through poorly planned urban areas in traffic just enrage people? Probably a bit of both I'd say.
In rural areas you don't have to charge out across roundabouts or jump lights to avoid being held up, since once you the are out of town there is much more opportunity to overtake slower traffic, which just doesn't happen on busy urban roads.

Big busy city = rude, impatient people in a rush
Rural b roads = slow tractors and retired people holding you up
Main motorways in less populated areas = nicest driving conditions
This - on the motorways, the proportion of agressive selfish morons increases whenever you skirt the edges of a city.Rural b roads = slow tractors and retired people holding you up
