In Chesterield today, I saw a rat look Mk4 golf.

It had a rusted bonnet, that had a bonnet bra on, what is the point in the bra on a rusty bonnet?

Was the bonnet rusty, or did it just look rusty?

Well, it looked rusty.

Surely to look rusty it must be rusty?

Loads of them just have rust-effect bonnets. Dunno how, but they do. I suppose there are a few genuine rusty ones, but I'd be surprised if many people want to go about making their bonnet rusty and keeping the rest of their car oxidisation-free.

I don't understand why people go for the rat look on Golfs, I think they look bloody stupid. As a classic enthusiast obsessed saddo I might be slightly biased, but I can't see how anyone can think a tatty golf is half as good as a nicely patina'd '50s Yank.

Yes rat cars are mainstream older by at least 10 years or so, just right about now they are reaching a peak after the sticker craze.

Isn't the rat scene supposed to include perfect mechanicals and performance? Judging by some of the entries I have seen they are proper sheds.
Rat = unfinished. Not dead stinking rat.

Yes it was, it will end up like Parkour/freerunning. Parkour is the childhood enjoyment of running along walls, jumping across gaps and general enjoyment carried to an adult extreme, freerunning is the MTV Pepsi Vimeo.Youtube (Nike branded shoe) alternative of this expression of enyoyment.

Such are Rat cars and a rusty banger with bald tyres.

You appear to have missed a few 'energy' drinks...When I did it as a kid we used to call it running and jumping, if we had to call it anything. The main issue is pigeonholing/categorising every fking thing to the Nth degree, eh?

That'll polish out no problem...

Do you think it is lowered or collapsed?
