DSG/PDK/MCT shift times
Discussion
I've seen a bunch of 'shift times' quoted for the modern flappy paddle gearboxes lately and it seems (perhaps unsurprisingly) that everyone thinks theirs is fastest.
Mercedes AMG SpeedShift MCT - 100ms.
Nissan GT-R - 200ms
Porsche PDK - 200ms
Porsche 991 GT3 PDK - 100ms - ... "we have shifting times like i think no other car with a licence plate attached"
Ferrari 458 - 100ms (also seen 50ms quoted)
Mclaren P1 - ? ... "faster than Ferrari"
Ferrari La - ? ... "faster than McLaren"
How much truth is there in any of this?
ow come they call claim to be the fastest?
How is it measured?
Clearly a bunch of marketing hype - anyone know some facts?
Formula 1 seems to be doing 50ms - is that right?
.1/.2s actually seems quite slow - why isn't it quicker, what are the limits?
Just curious.
