Off the back of the new Cliosport thread, I would just like to point out to anyone who didn't already know.....
New cars are more expensive than used cars!
I know its difficult concept to fathom, and we must try and keep this to ourselves otherwise no one will ever again buy a new car and the car industry will come to a grinding halt over night.
Also did you know a Dacia Sandero costs 1/46th of a Rolls Royce phantom...crazy, i really can not understand why anyone would buy the Rolls over the Dacia, i mean after all they do exactly the same thing right?

Was the actual point not that £18995 seems an awful lot, given when the revised Clio 197 was introduced in 2008 it was £15495?New cars are more expensive than used cars!

For example your wife's car is a Kia when for that money you could have bought a GTO. Silly mistake you made there.
I know tell me about it, whatamistakatomaker.....its like its a company leaser or something crazy like that i mean who'duv thunk it....I mean really i should have bought an 20 year old MX5, a 15 year old chimera and an 20 year old golf GTI, God what a fool i am!
To hell with the fact i don't have the space to keep them and not bothering to think about fuel economy or insurance, how do i sleep at night?

If you sleep in a house do you realise that your monthly rent or mortgage that could be a new M5 F10? Though I am shocked to find out that old cars depreciate and new cars have gone up in value.I mean really i should have bought an 20 year old MX5, a 15 year old chimera and an 20 year old golf GTI, God what a fool i am!

I believe this is my point......My objection to the price is that its quite a jump from the price of the previous one.

Na i live in Bradford and i bought a long time ago so my mortgage is only a fiesta ST on 6k pa at best.....I was a shocked as you my friend, I remember my mother paid (I think) £7k for a new Mk2 GTi back in the 80's, Golf GTI's are 27k now...exactly the same car, no differences AT ALL...
My sister is selling her Clio 172 Cup atm, she only wants £2k, such a fool, i have told here to stick on for £19k so its in line with a new Renault sport Clio instead, same car obviously. Stopped her from making a massive error there...PHEW!

Seriously its a different animal all together, yes its a jump, but you can see where the money is going......I would wager that the new one is going to be an awful lot easier to live with and put miles on than the current one. Plus to my point about kids, i could never consider a 3dr now.......big_boz said:

You need people to have the opposite opinion to you otherwise you'll never be able to make your wager.
No i just need someone who runs a current cliosport to buy a new cliosport and confirm that i am right.....Although i am not sure its abet that William hill would take on...but they will take bets on when Jesus is coming back so you never know!Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
