Went to the petrol station today, put in £100 worth of diesel.

Went in to pay, left the vehicle at the pump.

Grabbed a drink from the fridge as I walked past the fridge to pay. I spent about 30 seconds deciding which drink I wanted.

Now firstly, the woman beind the counter is a bit crazy and always tries to talk to me about nonsense. I just try and laugh it off and secretly want her to hurry the fk up.

Anyway, i pay for the fuel, which is on a company card. I have to give her the mileage, sign the receipt etc.

I then need to pay for the drink. I give her the cash, dont bother about the change or receipt and walk out.

As im walking back to the vehicle, some old fking wanders over to me and goes; "YOU SHOULD HAVE PULLED UP OVER THERE IF YOU'RE DOING YOUR SHOPPING!"

I politely tried to explain that i'd just put £100 worth of diesel in. I first thought he didnt realise i'd bought fuel, but then he goes; "I KNOW THAT BUT YOU'VE BEEN THERE FOR 10 MINUTES!!!" (which was clearly bks).

We 'agreed to disagree' and I politely told him to jog on (the flat cap wearing old tt).

Anyway, was I in the wrong? It infuriates me when people come back to the car at the pump with bags of shopping, but i only bought a fking drink. Should i have pulled off the pump anyway?

Im pretty certain he was just a moaning old prick who doesnt understand how long it takes to pay with a fuel card (coupled with the crazy bint at the till), but i need some PH clarification on this.

It's one of those things that pissed me off for the rest of the day, and still annoys me now.

In an attempt to get additional PH rant points;
fk wker bks old man.

No.

Except you should have simply told the moaner to "fk off" rather than telling us about him.

This really boils my piss! It happened to me the other week, in exactly the same situation. So I just leant against my car enjoying my drink. The guy was going mental in his car and completely didn't notice that the pump that I had parked at, was out of order.

So when I pulled forward, I stopped at the exit and watched him. I honestly don't think I have laughed that hard, ever.

In the wrong ?...........Yes.

you can pull away from pump as they all allow 2 fills so your fill won't get lost

if next car fills before you have paid.

Not in the wrong.

The common moron only puts £5-10 in at a time so buying a drink at the same time as 10x the amount of fuel they buy tends to upset them.

What happens if the cashier thinks you are going to drive off without paying?

Should have rammed his flat cap where the sun don't shine......

"YOU SHOULD HAVE PULLED UP OVER THERE IF YOU'RE DOING YOUR SHOPPING!"

"That's right, I should IF I was doing my shopping. Now good day, sir, I bid you adieu until we meet again to spar ina battle of wittery"
(Stand to attention, salute hard and march to your car shouting "Left, right, left right...)

Life's too short...

1) to get angry at having to wait an extra few moments. Everywhere we go is busy, you are going to have to queue! (Unless you are rural).

2) to care when someone else clearly has anger issues.

Or how about "I'm so sorry but my mother just died and I've just got back from Afghanistan". It's bad but hey, he made you feel bad first...

I bet you were driving a BMW?

Anyway...just shrug and say 'whatever'. No point in trying to communicate unless you have to.

We have kind chaps here who fill up for you, and do your windscreen, and check your tyres. Gives you plenty of time to grab a drink, have a slash, etc.

our best filling stations are the ones where you fill up then can only drive to a payment booth, shops on site aggravate the process

also........... why do car drivers only use the pump on the side where their tank is when the hoses will reach to the other side - making all pumps accessible....

Eh? What's the point in moving your car before you've paid, and if you weren't supposed to buy drinks and the like they wouldn't bloody sell 'em, silly old sod obviously needs something to moan about, ignore the tt!

I was having a pretty terrible day until this happened. It has actually made my whole week, he was such a tit! The really stupid thing was, as I was having my drink, there was a least 3-4 pumps free, so why he didn't use one of those I will never know
