Hi guys my current system is 4 standard speakers wired up-to jvc 50w x4 head unit with a 1000w amp powering my 500w sub

I have bought 2x 240w max pioneer 3 way speakers for the front

what would it be like hooking the speakers up-to the head unit as that would only give them 50w max wouldn't it?

would I be better off hooking them up-to my amp?

I really don't know much about this type of thing

Cheers

What is the sensitivity of the pioneers, how many channels does your amp have?

Chances are that your amp is a mono block or a 2 channel and will therefore not take the front speakers as well. So either a new amp to run the lot (Speakers and sub) is in order, or run them from the radio knowing your not getting the full potential out of them.

Please be sure to add either Dynamat or Skinz to the door panels as this will greatly improve your audio system with a little out lay in terms of money. This is a panel sound proofing material that stops the metal in the doors from vibrating with the speaker, allowing a much cleaner sound.

If you would like more help, let me know and I will be willing to assist. Are you near Cambridgeshire?
