Rattles & Sqeaks
Discussion
I've got a few rattles in my MX-5 which only happen at certain revs and the origins of which are proving difficult to find... A mate was telling me he used to have a CD he could play which had different frequencies on different tracks so that you could get the rattle going and track it down, but we don't know what it was called or if such things still exist.
Does anyone know where I could aquire such a thing? Even just some mp3s of different frequencies would work I assume?
I also have an annoying squeak which only seems to happen on bumpy roads, but not when I bounce the suspension at a standstill - anyone have any clever ideas as to how I might find this?!
TIA

You want an "Audio Test CD" Sometimes called "bass test cds" But you will probably need a wide range, not just bass tones.
Google, will find some you can download for free. http://www.audiocheck.net/soundtestsaudiotesttones... for example
YouTube comes up with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9FMkrF-7k0
or perhaps 50Hz (closer to road noise in a car)

EDIT playing 33hz is apparently the exact one for Lady pleasure
