Old Jeep Wranglers any good?
Discussion
Anyone on here own an older Jeep Wrangler?
I quite fancy replacing my winter shed (when it eventually dies/rots) with an older high mileage example of these.
Not bothered about the naff interior or too concerned about the mpg or speed, but reliability is key.
I don't actually know anything about them but they look practical and good fun.
Anyone with experience of them?

The only jeep my family had was very nearly written-off within 9 days of getting it (and consequently sold on) but the general concensus is that reliability is not the strong point of these vehicles. Bloody good offroad though which is why we got it.
Ah cheers for that. Done a bit of research tonight and I'm coming to a similar conclusion which is a shame. Will continue to read up on them with rose tinted specs for a bit yet though. We had an L reg 4.0 manual which was so scary in the wet it was funny, chirped the tyres on every gear change and I once spun it in it's own length! Superb off road and never needed anything although if it had been on the motorway for a while the rear diff knocked for a while after going round corners..
I have seen some of that age recently and chassis is buggered round the steering box which pretty much does for them so beware!
