P33 announced by Glickenhaus

Successor to the P4/5 will be smaller and lighter, but no less exclusive

Jim Glickenhaus has announced a new car that will succeed the Ferrari P4/5 that he commissioned in 2006.

Glickenhaus confirmed the existence of the new car on Ferrari forum Ferrarichat.com. The new car, the P33, will officially be constructed by Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, the racing team Glickenhaus runs and has raced for in his P4/5 Competizione.

SCG has confirmed that it plans to construct the new car’s chassis and body from carbon fibre, with the aim of achieving a kerb weight of just 725kg. The new car will be significantly smaller than the P4/5, and will be powered by a twin-turbo V6 engine of as-yet unknown origin, that’ll produce somewhere in the region of 500hp. Whether the car will be in part or wholly based on an existing Ferrari road car is as yet unknown.

Perhaps the most striking feature of the new car, though, is set to be its doors. Or, rather, its lack of them, as SCG says it hopes to incorporate a sliding cockpit system similar to that seen on the 512 S Modulo concept car created by Pininfarina for the 1970 Geneva Motor Show.

The P33 will also be revealed at Geneva, if all goes to plan, though SCG says it won’t be ready until the 2015 show. And if you fancy one, you’re fresh out of luck – the new car is, Glickenhaus says, set to be a one-off.

Here's hoping he makes the P33 slightly better looking than the slightly awkward (I'm being kind) P4/5.

More to power to his incredibly rich elbow though for actually doing stuff like this smile

Not the best picture of the P4/5 to be honest.

Those exhausts kill me every time. smile

With regards to the canopy, he should just buy a Nova

Much cheaper.

Lets hope that he doesn't butcher a La Ferrari to make it...

first thoughts on the "the" when i saw it was how it seemed to resemble the P4/5 personally, not sure if it was intentional scratchchin

Why? I'd argue that the P4/5 is a more attractive and interesting car than the Enzo it's based on.

i personally think that the P4/5 looks absolutely sensational, the rear is arguably the best angle.

The exhausts, you could argue, were ahead of their time. they would create a significant 'blown' wing effect, creating additional downforce for no extra drag.

Excellent stuff, here's hoping that the P33 is anywhere near as nice looking

If Halfords had an upmarket DIY range of body kits, this would be on the poster. Totally foul and as vulgar as the money involved...

P4/5 is based on a 430, not an Enzo, I thought. The link above does contradict my belief however.

Wouldn't be surprised if the twin turbo V6 comes from Maserati.

Glickenhaus has said he is in talks about constructing a Grand Am Daytona prototype with Maserati.

Stunned by that. I think the P4/5 is a great looking car in street and race form.

The original is Enzo based. The one he raced at the 'Ring was 430 based.
Fair enough, I thought they were one and the same car. Didn't realise he splashed out on two!

The Enzo based car I think looks ridiculous, but the race car looks amazing. Sounds like this new creation is going to look equally stupid.

Rear & side angle looks well, but I personally prefer the front of the LaFerrari....

Front end makes it look like a Kit car.
