MY CX7 is booked in for a remap, hoping for 315bhp and a massive slug of torque in the mid range. Has anybody chipped a CX7? I am upgrading the brakes but had a horrifying experience with Black Diamond, any views on EBC?

I might be wrong here but isn't the CX7 a ruddy massive people carrier!?

It's a sort of SUV type thing but with pretty decent handling, great gearbox, superb brakes (so long as you don't buy Black Diamond) and a grunter of an engine. It's not swish like a ToeRag and it manages 14mpg if you horse it along and it's a good compromise if your wife wants a 4x4 and you don't!!!

Now the introductions are over, how do I get it to go faster! A stage 2 map seems to be the answer but I can't find anyone who definitively knows what bits to bolt on to get the best results. Unfortunately the MPS engine seems to be a bit of an unknown.

Does it also have the same brakes as the 6MPS?

The remap, I've got covered. VES Sport outside Dunblane have invested in the kit to do the MPS engine and it's £350! A huge bargain compared to BBR! All the other goodies in the link above are the answer...need a slightly larger wheel to reduce the size of the tyre wall; the current set up doesn't do the car any favours. I need to get the brakes sorted first then look at the rest...EBC Ultimax? Any good?

A friend has one and loves it. Also chipped, it goes like stink. Handling isn't bad for a big car either.

Only downside is the full bore ~500 tax.

I have heard they go pretty well out of the box - I was just browsing autotrader and spotted a tidy looking example at a local dealers - was surprised how cheap it was, probably due to the mpg and road tax I guess. might make a reasonable replacement for our cherokee

It just wont "chip" to 315bhp ,more like 280-90 tops, but will increase the under the curve massivley.

The engine responds amazingly to bolt on mods ,i chopped out my 2nd cat and silencer and got a custom backbox.
This stops the restriction at 5500rpm and carries on pulling to redline.

No other mods at the moment performance wise , i do have a full intake (turbo inlet pipe) and upgraded recirc valve on its way .Once all these are fitted it should be a easy 280bhp ,then it should remap to about 305bhp 350lb ft.

The best form of remapping is using the cobb accessport, there is literally only 2-3 places that can remap the car correctly via a rolling road .BBR ,TotalMPS and RS tuning .
