A good friend of mine has had enough of depressing interest rates so keeps buying old AA/RAC badges!

Fair enough, good on him, Plonker!

Actually there great, he loves them,

Anyway I'm coming to the inevitable point here,

What do you men of great honour and respect for all things Tvr think of an AA chrome badge fixed to the mid splitter next to small front no plate!

I'll be honest I even put AA one side and RAC badge the other. Looked ace to me, then realised I'd look a compete anorak, and would have steam coming out in no time!

I'm pretty sure the bonet opening would foul it anyway, but the AA badge didn't half look good, I'll get round to sorting pics on this phone one day, doah,

What's your thoughts on the very idea of this madness,

Such perfect lines on a Chim you don't need bling but it evoked Austin Healy, triumph, jag, bentley,

But also club member, nerd, sort of bloke who should sport a bonkers tash!

It's a blooming AA badge and I'm having a crisis of confidence,

Jeez, put simply are you gonna laugh your tits off at me, lol, if so I'm fecking doing it.

Honest I thought it looked classy but then I think a Subway is a meal out.

Will be removing yellow rear plate for air to pass through, for those of you that know their AA badges!

When I was a kid my dad had an RAC badge on the front of his motor. If we passed an RAC patrolman standing by the side of the road he'd salute you... My God how the world has changed....

Anyway, I'm struggling to visualise a TVR blatting round a track with an AA badge on the front of it. I think you're having another one of those 'moments' Alun wink

Why don't you start a collection of those rear window stickers too . Ive seen the Lions of Longleat ,member of the National Trust, Ive been to Polperro, Caravan owners Club ,etc etc . On the badge subject, do it properly with a chrome badge bar and you could add some little LED lights to it and a couple of those yellowy fog lights. rolleyes

Thanks Loco, you see you shouldn't mis conceive common concensorce as fact! But in this case and your handle begins with Loco! Smile

Chilliman, that's it maybe I just want to be saluted!

I've paid in for decades I want them to sweat blood if I'm by the side of the road.

Look I'm single these days, I polish lots of things, just trying to stay healthy, there's not enough Chrome on these things.

I miss my old 1980 Daimler 4.2, man they had chrome bits awash.

AA badges, the fear is tomorrow I go and make the same mate a new back gate, I'll have my batt drill with me!

I think I'm/ we are in the clear anyway, I'm sure it will foul on the bonet, if not I'm a fecker for going against the wind!

Sat here for 5 mins considering,,,,,, I'll lose my bottle, do the right thing and leave well alone.

I'm a liar I will at least offer it up again stick it on with tape and have a cup of tea, see if it makes me vomit through my nasal hair.

Ive always adored old cars, I'm in the process of pulling myself in two regards tracking her, I love the pottering touring thing just as much, just think local villages might see me errr as a more refined chap, the cars says roar assed bd!

Nah that's nuts it's cos I love all that tipping your hat stuff, a guy in a lovely old Austin 7 lit his candles as he went past, well chuffed I was, he probably wanted help, it's that stuff I like the most,

Marham track day for me was nearly as enjoyable having people smile and enjoy our cars as it was to then rage around the track in it. Actually driving through the pits, all those souped up Jap crap etc, they all looked and seemed jeleous to me! Priceless. That's what it's about.

So new list

Walking stick

Flat cap

Flask, st I got one of them already!

Blanket, st. ". ". ". ". !

Basket.

Soggy sarnies

Bible, lol

You guys would never believe it but I got a life, better stop this rudderless ship and do something constuctive, measure my badge opening size, doah.

What a lovely day, I'm sitting on me bench looking at the monster in my midst, bloody brill ain't they. I'm not a tramp,,, yet, just got a seat in my garden!!! Have a good day, tally ho, Ching Ching, chocks away, clear for take off, good show old chap, TTFN.

If the car is older than 40 years old, and the driver over 60 years old: cool.

Otherwise naff.

Found a mid 50's RAC Motor Sport Member's badge on ebay ,which I think is pretty cool.

Wouldn't suit my cars though, which is why its in my study.

Daughter's father-in-law used to be a high-up in the AA at Basingstoke, if he sees an AA badge in an antique shop or at a boot sale, he'll wind the seller up by pointing out the writing on the badge that states that the badges remain the property of the AA and he's heard that they want them all back hehe
