I know some see these as essential, but I only ever turned them on once - felt distinctly pervy, like I was being touched in an improper way. I dont want a warm fuzzy feeling round my hoop.

Perhaps that says more about my fears than car gadgets, but even if I could get past that, then they re a bit "nursing home" aren't they? "Ooooh, are you warm enough dearie, shall I wrap you in a bit more?"

Just get off me.

I never liked them, always thought they were for old people and weirdos who liked feeling they'd had an accident in their pants.
But then I got a car which had them fitted and wouldn't want to be without them now. This means they're either great, or I've turned into an old weirdo. nuts

Brilliant things if you're setting off at -5 degrees at 6am.

This.

Cold winter mornings and leather seats are not much fun. Heated seats take the edge off the chill.

They just seem like one gadget too many to me. Especially a gadget that might burn me alive or electrocute me. I exaggerate to make a point, however, I've never used them in our cars that have them. Brrrr...

I would have thought your clothes would take the edge of the chill.

The OH has been banned from using her V70 for the last month since we have a leased C1 and want to use up the mileage on that before it goes back (it also does 60+mpg).

The Volvo was released back for duty on Saturday and she was overjoyed - why? Heated seats were on full blast. She has them switched on even if it's scorching. Women = lizards.

Heated seats are great on cold mornings. I sometimes even turn the ac down a bit and stick the heated seat on for that warm fuzzy feeling. I have most of the heating set for the seat back and only a little for the base, a warm bum isn't as nice as a warm lower back.

Cooled seats are great too for when the cars been sat in the sun for a while.

I twanged something in my lower back last week, half an hour in the Phaeton's heated and massage seats on the way to work certainly helped me through the morning !

Cooled seats on Lexus are awesome. Great in a shirt on a baking day when the leather can become a bit sweaty

I take it the OP has never owned a car with leather/vinyl seats?

Agreed, not much use in the UK where you don't really see freezing temperatures. Now try setting off in a cold car at -30, then you quickly see them as something very nice to have.

I wish the tight bd who originally specced my S60 had opted for them.
Wonderful things.
Car is well specced otherwise but no heated seats in a Volvo just aint on.
Not easy to add afterwards either frown

I also miss putting the passenger heater on full blast while the O/H isn`t looking: "Why is my arse getting hot?, Oh wait"

I had never seen why I would want heated seats until I borrowed a diesel E320 sport in the winter. Toasty on early cold morning starts.

We have heated and ventilated seats in the old Merc (2002 E430) - plus the air switches for the lumber and seat base support. Lovely comfy chairs they are smile

Yep, there are two of them now in the household, just like I said I dont like that hot poker feeling yikes

But I do understand the bad back thing, mine just heat up the squabs, can you get ones that do the back too? And mine dont cool either, now they sound awesome on leather.
