I think it stems from the days when I was heavily into Alfa Giulia coupes.

They came in some pretty fantastic 60's/70's hues however I was brainwashed by my peers that a Bertone coupe simply must be Alfa Rosso. So had my 2000GTV painted accordingly. I now detest red. On E Types, Astons, Impact Bumper 911's and Lambo's and Ferrari's. On TR's, MG's and Triumph's

The only problem is I have a small collection of red microcars. In this scene (actually like all classic cars) you buy on condition. With the really rare stuff you take what you're given. So out of my four micros three are red!

I'm a firm believer in originality so will not alter their colour.

Oddly enough I like a red 993 or 997. I think maybe because they're mega rare in guards as silver etc was much more fashionable.

Hmm.

Unlucky.

I have a feeling in my water that red is due a comeback. We've had the silvers, blacks, greys and whites, so yeah, I think red is next.

Flame Pink has never been my favorite Vauxhall Colour and the few red cars I've had have always suffered colour bleaching.......

BL used to do a burgundy (Dmask Red I think it was) that bleached white (damn near it) after too much exposure to the sun - I had an MG midget that needed T-cut after every wash

I love red cars. A Rosso Corsa 355 or a Guards Red 964 Carrera...get in! However, in the main I tend to avoid red. It looks stunning when it's cared for, but without careful maintenance it can end up looking dire. I love my 80's and 90's performance cars - many of those available in red are a curious shade of pink now.

My first car was a flame pink Astra, ah the memories.

Despite fading issues red is my favourite colour for most cars, it's green ones I can't stand yuck

Cunningly left out the "oddly enough". Devil's in the detail.

Apply "most but not all" going forwards.

My missus hates red cars too for some reason.

When i was set to buy a slate gray Cayman she was over the moon. Less so when i actually turned up in a GR 964 hehe

So just to be clear, you hate red cars, but you own some red cars, and you would like some cars in red.....

My apologies for making your exception to your rule seem silly.

I also mostly don't like red cars. Yet half of my RX7s were red, and I loved the red one. Also if I ever have enough money my Alfa SZ will be red, as will the 288 GTO. But I recently didn't buy a 944 because it was red.

I hate red too..and dull blue and silver!

My dad always used to say red cars to him are like a target for others to aim at..like a bulls eye.....as he bought a Red Mk2 Granada write-off to rebuild.
