How to best stop Birds fouling on my car?
Discussion
Hello
Just after some suggestions as to how best stop birds fouling on my car. I have two BT phone lines running across from the pole on the road over the top of my drive to the house. One of the lines goes to the house next door if that makes any difference.
This time of year my cars are getting bombarded with bird droppings. Is there a product that I can put on the cable/line to stop the birds from sitting on it? or can I phone BT and ask them to put something on the cable/line? I know you can get the spike things you can attach to flat surfaces, but this is obviously not possible with a thin bit of cable.
Any help much appreciated.

I don't really have the time to wash the car everyday.
Can't park it elsewhere on the drive as it runs diagonally across so they seem to be able to get it from anywhere. It's just the S60R I'm bothered about. Don't really care that much about the company vehicles.
I do own a nice rifle with a very tasty scope. But I don't think going on a murderous campaign and killing all the birds in the village is ideal haha. And I also own a cat. She does have the odd one for dinner.
So any other suggestions?

I have to say the thought of calling BT and asking them to change the route of some phone lines purely to stop birds s
tting on a car does make me chuckle.
Can you imagine anyone at BT taking the call seriously?
Can you imagine actually getting to speak to someone at BT ?

Get more cats?
Good idea, but they would need to be flying cats to get to the phone line. Don't know where to find those. Maybe cross breeding is the answer to that.
And I'm sure BT would tell me to shove it where the sun dont shine, if I phoned them up saying, " errr there are birds pooing on my car from your phone line, can you help?" Haha.

How about setting up a small wooden platform at each end of the phoneline? A bit like they have at the circus so the cat can tightrope walk to get at them easier?
Or maybe a couple of full size cat models on the phoneline itself so the birds don't land on the line in the first place? Sort of scarecrow/cats?

I have a car cover. Keeps the bird mess off as well as avoiding me having to get snow and ice off the car in winter. Helps stop the local ne're do wells messing with it as well.
It's worse this time of year I think because of incoming migrant birds lining up on telephone lines and then lots of young ones coming out of their nests. I have a sparrowhawk that sits on my garden fence and I've seen it take a few smaller birds.
