Supposed to be a good bit of kit.

Are these well thought of (just saw comment above!)?

My Karcher went pop recently and I haven't got round to replacing it yet, so this looks like an opportunity!

BTW, Amazon ad says "was £199.99" but there are plenty of Google listings at £95-ish....just saying!

Buy some more hoselock fittings as my mother bought one and the plastic one supplied leaked quite badly. A new one from Amazon cured it.

I have one of these, although branded as the "Centenial Edition" from Argos at £100. They're a steal at £100 IMO so i figured i'd post this when i saw it.

Compared to my previous Karcher, it's higher quality in every way despite costing a fraction. The tools are stronger, the 8m hose is a better rubber that doesn't frustrate to use like the kink prone karcher that doesn't like cold weather (it's always cold here in Scotland!).

There are lots of positives i won't list but the downsides for me are:

1. The hose storage drum is too much of a fiddle to use
2. There's one of the attachments seems a bit lame to me, it's a brush with a head that moves under water pressure

Prior to me buying my Nilfisk, I've had a couple of Karchers - both of which went pop. I think that this was due to residual water expanding and freezing during the winter. My Nilfisk has managed 3 years without issue. So, a thumbs up from me.

The only negative is that the Karcher attachments are not compatible.

I bought one of these 3 years ago and can report it has been brilliant. It gets a lot of abuse every year washing down the drive, patio etc and does loads of car washing. Only problem i have had is the hose split, but these are cheap enough to buy. Absolute bargain for the money. I was told on purchase these have a stronger pump etc than many other more expensive washers and can believe that now!

Karchers are a doddle to fix when frost damaged. Control head cracks is about £25.

If it pulses a lot then the cylinder head is knacked. £20.

Piss poor design making them in plastic.

Once my Karcher becomes uneconomical to repair, I will be buying Nilfisk.

And a new long shaft torx head screwdriver IIRC.

Bought a refurbed one off eBay for 65 with the patio and the drain snake kit.
So a new one (minus snake) for a 5 more is a bargain!

This as a pre-wash, a 2 bucker wash with a mit and a proper drying towel made it look better than the day i picked it up (thats because it was snowing).

Edit: Also look to get an extension lead, the plug is a bit shorter than i would like.

+1

I got my Nilfisk C120 from argos at the same price and its an ace bit of kit. I gave up and removed the drum in the end though, it's not a plumbed in one which for me is a shame.

It works well with my auto brite snow foam lance too!

Grr.
Courier arrives today and the silly sods at Amazon have sent just the patio-cleaning brush, not the actual jet washer that is the principle item in the bundle. The packing note on the patio brush says it's box 1 of 1, so it's not that a second box has gone astray anywhere.

So that's going to have to go back tomorrow for replacement with the proper package.
