This years run was not as sunny as we were used to, but hey - isn't Holland known for its awesome cloudy skies.
Previous DSRs had the handy satnav data to guide us through the variety of Dutch micro cultures. Not this year. A few months back my daughter Benthe proved to be a skillfull navigator at a KidsRally event. I thought she would easily cope with the 300-something kms / 8 A4 pages of instruction . . . and she did! amazing girl.
Hardly supercar territory: 85 brake / 200 Nm diesel went very well on the twisties.
DSR veterans Andy and Anne choose the Fab VRS: Autocar "Lots of fun. The 178bhp twincharged 1.4 TSI motor is feisty but refined, if a little vocal at times, with a healthy wallop in the midrange and a decent kick up at the top. The 0-62mph sprint takes just 7.3sec, and it will push on to 139mph should the need arise."
Jeroen drove the trusty - 16 years - Barchetta and Joop brought the fiercesome - its quick! - 3 litre Coupe.
Boxter S saved the 'special car' status. Henk introduced his sons to this DSR and had a blast: 300 brake beastie had a soundbyte!

We started at 9 and drove through the Dutch biblebelt were everyone sat in the church and every restaurant / cafe was closed. Bah, at 11.15 we found a spot to rest, chat, watch a bit of LM and have a coffee.

Nice way to cut the log wood. Splitter was also engine-driven. Who needs electric motors?

Apart from the regular for sale junk and litter these model ships caught my eye. There was a pond made to demonstrate the aqua abilities - but when I passed the gentlemen had a break.
Police dog show was good fun!
Dog attacks shot like a bullit. He only listens to one man: the boss. All happended in a blink of an eye. Brilliant stuff. I want one.

A few years after the Bulldog was discontinued the Lanz name fell into disuse. The Lanz Bulldog was one of the most popular German tractors, with over 220,000 of them produced in its long production life. The name "Bulldog" is widely used in Germany as a synonym for tractors even today, especially in Bavaria.
