BMW 330d Xdrive or..........?
Discussion
Having been in to test drive a couple of cars, I have narrowed it down to;
335d Xdrive saloon. This will be large enough for what we need and I really want the 335d which is not available on the estate
135i. Possibly not large enough but a great drive for the money. No 4wd which is a bit of an issue for me (I have winters on my Merc so know its not the end of the world)
I can get 5k dealer contribution off the 335d so whilst more that I would usually pay, it brings the cost down a bit. Not sure how much else they will move on the price.
Just need to get an idea of the p/x price for ours before I go in to do the deal on Wednesday

As an aside (... and apologies for the slight hijack although it is relevant
)- on looking I was astounded by the published mpg stats for the latest 330d- 47 / 66 / 58mpg (urban / extra urban / combined). This and 129g CO2 emissions. Very, very impressive for what is a car with 155mph / 5.6s 0-60 capability.
One wonders if in the 50s everyday mpg is really achievable or is it case of BMW 'spoofing' the test? No doubt if you actually used any amount of the 250 or so bhp available, the published mpg figures would very quickly look quite silly

I got mid 30's from an f31 330d touring over a weekend but that was booting it a bit and no motorway stuff, I reckon at a steady 85 on the motorway you'll be in the high 40's

Pretty impressive, similar to our Golf (170PD), which is quite a bit smaller and has 80bhp less.
