Why all the cockney car dealer speak?
Discussion
I worked in the motor trade for a little while as a dogsbody at a small dealer and dont remember anyone speaking like that, there was a language though, couple I remember
Bog Butty = Body Filler
The Block = Auction
s = Customers - The owner was not a very nice bloke.
Minted = getting a car properly clean, as in "I want that Cavalier Minted", otherwise it just got a bucket of water.

Why the hell has cockney car dealer speak become the PH norm?

Mike Brewer is hilarious not only for his 'accent' but also the fact that he slaps everyone on the back. I watched one episode involving an E36 M3 Cabrio if I remember rightly, lady owner and yep, slapped her good and proper too
. How long until Mike gets a slap of his own.
I remember that. She was a bit of a honey and recoiled hugely.
I say, geezer, please desist from this lambasting of the London tongue or you may be destined for a short pursuit in your whistle and flute on your plates of meat whilst tripping the light fantastic down the apples and pears.
Cue "Fast Show" "Hello, we're Cockneys!"
Personally, I find use of the actual terms far better. Gor blimey, Mary Poppins.
