Sick x type

I have a 2.0 diesel jag which has decided to churn out white smoke and rattle under acceleration, I assume it is not announcing a new pope any ideas?

Could it be steam? Coolant burning in the cylinders? Is it worse on a warm start-up?

could be a turbo seal.

Firstly I'd establish what the smoke is.

White smoke can be unburnt fuel caused by bad injector timing, lack of compression or faulty injectors.

Sounds like injector trouble to. Its quite a common fault (but not a cheap fix)
