Well I'd hazard a guess that you're going blind, at the very least. hehe

I actually quite like the way it looks. At the very least it's fractionally less hideous than the rest of their range.

I like the look of them, probably the most (or perhaps only) desireable sub £30K electric car.

However, spending £30K to save £50 a month on fuel still doesn't add up for me.

I've ordered the brochure and have requested a test drive. As long as it's the Mrs car I'm happy with it.

I have my car for weekends and fun, it would save us around £200/month on fuel - so the boggo one makes sense to me...

LOOK you moron just face facts

You do live in a 23rd floor flat

You can't park within 5 miles of your flat

You drive 300 miles in the morning to work

You only work for 8 minutes

You then drive 400miles home again

and you only sleep for four minutes before going on a random 300 mile drive

Given that i'm currently spending £350/month+ on super unleaded it would basically be free. I'm torn between being extremely pissed off about paying so much tax and my inherent love of fast noisy things (which clearly it isn't)

Question is - can it withstand daily use and will i screw the battery etc by charging it up every day, or is it intended for pottering about in the city doing short trips and getting a charge once a week?

Isn't it Li-ion batteries? In which case no battery memory so you won't screw it up with regular charging.

These cars make good sense of you know you don't do long trips etc. It'd work out relatively ideal for me as my commute is 20 miles each way but regularly visit my mum who lives 90 miles away and travel back the same day, or drive up to North Wales every few months so for me not practical enough but yes, I can see they'd be very good for some people.

Given thats (primarily) the role that it ias been built to do then I wouldn't loose any sleep about it.

Plus (I assume) you will be leasing it so if the batteries are shot by the end of the term then thats BMWs problem smile

Price aside, I also like the idea of the i3 a lot and out the box there isnt a single option that I would add to it which is unusual for a BMW.

Damn right! After all, we wouldn't want fewer people using petrol.

Just get a Leaf and give up on desirability (it's cheaper than the i3).

There was a comedy deal of £1900 down and £99 a month over to years for the Leaf.

How many miles does that £350 buy you?

I've just ordered one. The financials save me money as a fourth car as long as it get used for 12,000 miles a year. If you put it through as a company car and are a higher rate payer your net take home cost is about £310mth with it reasonably specced with range ext.

We spend over £800 a month on fuel so it will be fun and should make some savings. it is ideal for both mine or Lisa's commute and school trips.

Going to see a car in mid Oct...

It is the first really different car I've said I want for ages.
