I need some new registration plates made up and am prevailing on the PH collective to advise of good suppliers of said items where said items will not suffer from infant mortality due to premature fading, delamination, cracking etc., etc.

I await in excited anticipation of the responses.

I always get them from whoever is cheapest on eBay that sells ones that look like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pair-Standard-GB-Euro-Nu...

where the "euro GB" logo is clearly part of the reflective material they print the numbers on, not printed by them. Tend to be better quality.

Never had any problems with any plates I've bought on eBay at a fraction of the price of motor factors / Halfords.

Thanks Toaster P. It appears not many people here get plates made up . . . . . . or they prevail upon Halfords 'best'!

Only bought plates from Halfords once in an emergency when someone nicked the front plate from my poor little Picanto - they took two attempts to get the registration number correct despite seeing the paperwork....

They also charge something silly like £16 a plate, I've bought countless sets from eBay for £11 a pair with no hassle. No idea how they get away with not asking for documents though - my preferred supplier disappeared and I guess that's cause Doovla caught up with them

You can also get the pressed metal numberplates from here : http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.p...

Can look really good and guaranteed no fading or delamination.

Not sure if it's your thing but I got a set of (genuinely UK legal) pressed plates from dubmesiter - http://www.dubmeister.co.uk/webshop/uk-legal-press...

Really good quality and they look fantastic, but may not be to your taste.

As fitted to my car, as you can see they're the correct font etc: http://i.imgur.com/wmBYSDs.jpg
