You turn on the TV to see that the UK has caved in on itself. No one can be trusted, violence and anarchy everywhere and it's every man/woman for themselves (MadMax style). In this hypothetical scenario fuel is available and you have a choice of only one of the vehicles in my garage and no other. My garage consists of a new Nissan Juke 1.6l petrol, a 3 year old diesel Transit van, a Noble M12 and a 1970 Series 2a Land Rover petrol.
So...what do you go for and why?scratchchin

The juke as of those three it seems most suited to the school run.

Depends what state the Land Rover is in. If it is running, then that'll do me - can be repaired with a lump hammer, will cope better when the roads deteriorate further than they have already and is most likely to be able to get me food (have you tried running a deer or a cow over with a noble?)

Transit van.

Mpg is better so you can travel further away from the anarchy that will be erupting in our cities.

Landy, easy to repair, drive almost anywhere, and cool to look at as a bonus.

Transit. You can keep/store more people in it.

Newsflash...The Landy runs but has a tendency to drain the battery if I don't switch off the battery isolator, the Transit is reliable but wheel spins terribly on anything other than a dry road and the Noble goes like the clappers but you need to sit around waiting for those turbos to cool down before switching off (will try mowing a cow down in it later and will report back).
So far no zombies spotted..

I would go for the Landy

I have a cosmetically battered S3 that is in perfect mechanical condition. It would always be my first choice. The only downside is the pretty poor fuel consumption, which would be quite constraining in the times you describe.

Is there enough time/tools to make a hybrid out of all the cars?

I would chose the noble. Get to the Winchester nice and quick, have a pint and wait til it all blows over.

Head for here.

There's a swimming pool full of water, plus we have guns.
