hows this going to go? (insurance)
Discussion
was parked up on the righthand side of the road, started joining traffic (Crossing traffic heading towards me) and got hit by a car heading the same direction as the way i intended to go.
basically i got hit by someone who had bad road positioning and crossed over to my side of the road. I was halfway across the opposite side of the road which was clear and he collided with me, I saw him but thought he had enough room but he moved out in to the middle of the road.

as far as i am concered I was in the opposite lane of traffic (Which was clear) and got hit whilst stationary by someone traveling at speed in the other direction
You mention you were halfway across the roAd though not in your lane fully in the first post ?If you were halfway imo you were at fault pulling across incoming traffic, if you had completed your manoeuvre then it still isn't clean cut as you could have caused the car to swerve into your lane.
All imo of course based on your posts and lack of pics etc.

You said you were joining traffic now you say you were stationary - can't be both.I've read it as OPs on a road, let's say it runs South to North. He's positioned on the right hand side, wanting to turn right onto a road which runs East.
As he is turning right (i.e. no oncoming traffic heading North to South), this is where I get lost.
Either a car pulls out from the road to the right who intends to head North, and they hit.
or a car form behind hits him before he's completed the manoeuvre.

Wrong. As he is turning right (i.e. no oncoming traffic heading North to South), this is where I get lost.

He was parked facing oncoming traffic and pulled out when there was nothing coming towards him, with the intention of crossing back to the left hand side of the road.
He was hit from behind by a car travelling in the same direction he was intending to go.
OK, you were parked on the wrong side of the road, facing oncoming traffic and drive across the road to join the correct side of the road and were hit by a car probably noty paying attention but with right of way.
On that basis, it's going to end badly for you because he had right of way. It's similar to joining a motorway and the guy you expect to move out into lane 2 doesn't and he hits you. You're still in the middle of a manoeuvre you had not sufficiently assessed as being safe to complete ie you took a chance and it didn't pay off.

You are at fault.basically i got hit by someone who had bad road positioning and crossed over to my side of the road. I was halfway across the opposite side of the road which was clear and he collided with me, I saw him but thought he had enough room but he moved out in to the middle of the road.
You pulled out in front of the other vehicle.

that completes half a manouvre then expects oncoming traffic to stop for them to complete it.
