Evening all, I'm in the process of gathering up various V5s and licences to send off for address changes.

We aren't moving to our new house until the 27th of this month so I was wondering when would be a good time to send the docs. I don't really want the documents to get to the new place before us but I don't want to delay too long.

Any experiences of how long they might take to turn these docs around? Any other blood curdling anecdotes about the DVLA will, of course, be welcome.

Thanks

Given the potential for house moves to go belly-up at short notice I'd wait until you're in your new place before sending them.

I had a folder of stuff to send as soon as we moved in our present house. I posted them the evening we moved in whilst out walking the dog.

Moved house recently and sent off a variety of V5s and retention docs. They arrived back between 2 and 4 weeks later.
I definitely wouldn't send them until you're in. We had a moving date and arranged for the post office to redirect. The moving date then got postponed but we couldn't stop our post from being sent to the new property. A right PITA.
