And need help. If I had any hair I'd be pulling it out by now! Id post this in the Saab forum but as it uses a Vauxhall engine and is a bit general mechanical and I really could use help before I go insane.

I've got a Saab 9-3 Aero with the 210bhp 2.0 B207R engine. I believe its the same lump as a Z20NET engine. Its got an electronic throttle that uses canbus to operate a motor on the throttle body which controls idle etc.

I'm getting a fault code code for P2135 which is - Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch "A"/"B" Voltage Correlation. It is on all the time and will not reset via code reader. Called the AA out as it happened on the way to work and wouldnt go above 20mph - limp home sucks! They got the same code I did - couldnt reset it so recovered me home (and very kindly offered me an Enterprise car for 3 days - top service from the AA, well worth my £7 a month - even if it is a Chevrolet Spark - thats another story).

So the vehicles home. Ive had random throttle body codes before, they clear as soon as they've come up, with no ill effect. Thought maybe it had come off. The body was dirty so I've cleaned it out with carb cleaner and a toothbrush and cleaned the contacts on the plug with electrical contact cleaner. Reset the code, engine on and bang LHM again.

Next stage I unbolted the pedal from the bulkhead, popped the plastic cap off and checked the tracks, no breaks, no burnt bits, no dry joints. Contact cleaned the connector and the tracks. Still no change.

Left it for the night as it was getting dark. Did a bit of googling found there is a grey connector on the leg that causes this exact code, so stripped the battery tray out, undid the two connectors, contact cleaner and refit, battery back in, no DTC's saved! Win I thought. Left it idling on the drive for 5 minutes perfectly normal. Whizzed it up the road, gives me boost thought brilliant. Drove home normally just as im pulling onto the drive.... LHM again! Swore. So then I disconnected the battery again, cleaned these connectors again and the ECU ones and the plug to the TB and still nothing. Ive also cleaned the MAP sensor and still it will run for about roughly 10 minutes perfectly fine and will do whatever but then go into LHM. Everytime the battery is reset.

Im stuck. I still think its a connector issue but am i doing right by spraying it with contact cleaner? Is there any grease I can use to ensure there's no dampness. Just cant help but thing as soon as its got cold and damps set in? Maybe causing havoc.

All advice received would be appreciated smile

Thanks PH!

I have no useful advice whatsoever I'm afraid - but it wasn't you on the hard shoulder of the M4 around J11 this morning was it? Saw a very unhappy man with a 9-3 2.0t this morning. Only recall it as I remember thinking you don't see many SAABs on the h/s smile

I had similar boost problems with an A3 1.8T thought it was an air leak somewhere but cleaning the TB and replacing the boost recirc valve fixed it.

Sorry not much help im afraid but i feel for you as my A3 TDi keeps going into limp mode.

Awesome car, one of my favourites to have owned but not without a few electrical anomalies.

Read this: http://www.saabcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t...

Solution seems to be recalibrating the pedal by pushing the accelerator to the floor, then starting the car, then releasing the pedal.
