Just got my new Audi A6 Black Edition complete with 20" Diamond Cut alloys biggrin, I decided to take out some alloy wheel insurance (if/when I damage or scuff them), but upon reading the small print the majority of policies don't cover Diamond or Laser cut alloys.

The audi dealer has offered me Alloy and Tyre insurance for £450 for 3 years cover. Does anyone know of any companies who offer this?

anyone used any?

Any feedback would be appreciated...smile

So you're buying a brand new A6 with a high spec and they can't chuck that in? Or atleast cover the cost a bit?

Then again from my experience of buying cars over the last few years the days of dealers throwing stuff at you in order to make a sale are seemingly long gone. When I bought my '10 plate Pug the dealer even took the floor mats out before delivery!

We do shed loads of work for "Premia solutions" and "Abraxus", both big in the world of alloy wheel insurance.

Cost depends on your alloys, painted being a cheaper policy than diamond cut, and most limit you to 10 claims over the 2/3 yrs.

Still a cheap option if you do make the full 10 claims over the time of policy, £450 divide by 10 comes out at £45 a wheel, our normal price for a single diamond cut alloy to joe public varies between £60-£95.

I wish I'd known about this frown
I am continually kerbing the AMG alloys on my SLK - I cannot tell you just how careful I am too. So much as brush a kerb and they're scraped. (sad fact: I kerbed the first one after driving it five feet on collecting it.) Terrible design.

Yep, no matter how careful you are it can/will happen, especially with modern low profile tyres. My car is only a 10 days old, and so far so good... but it will happen some day, i'm sure!

Yes, if you make use of the policy to the max then it's good value for sure. Do you know who sells the Premia or Abraxas policies?

So one of you thinks driving in to a static object is a design flaw in the wheel, and the other one thinks infinite caution is still not enough to avoid hitting a static object?

Blimey.
