Selling your car privately advice - am I being scammed
Discussion
Hi, I'm trying to sell my car via another well know car sales site! and have received an offer from a naval officer which seems to good to be true... please can anyone offer advice or know if this is a scam or not??
Email received from potential buyer...
"Thanks for the prompt response. I'm ok with the condition of the car, as I
have already gone through it on the advert and I am ready to buy it
now as a gift for my Daughter.
I'm at sea at the moment as I'm a Navy Officer, and due to the nature
of my job, the making phone calls and visiting websites are restricted
but I found some time to check your advert and send you an email
regarding it.
I really want it to be a surprise for my daughter, I won't let her
know anything about it until it gets delivered to her. I am sure she
will be more than happy with it. I
insist on paypal because I don't have access to my bank account online
as I don't have internet banking, but I can pay from my paypal
account, as i
have my bank a/c attached to it. Get back to me with your paypal email
and the price so that I can proceed with the payment quickly. If you
don't have an account, you can sign-up for a paypal personal account
at www.paypal.com it is
very fast and easy to set up. There is a shipping company agent that
will pick up the car after the payment has been sorted out."
What do reckon??? Should I ignore it or what could I do to safeguard myself??
Thanks in advance...

Sorry buddy, If you need to ask if that's a scam, maybe a trade in is a better idea.
Words that should ring a bell when selling anything are - Paypal, Shipping Agent, Western Union, Offshore, Good condition, Right specification, Archbishop, Reverend, Nigeria, Moneygram, bank account, top money, Faith.
Buyer Beware!
