You'll need something with a big enough back seat wink

Although when we had an Au Pair, it needed a big front seat - My OH picked one with a giant arse!!

I assume you need something cheap, reliable, efficient, small, with just enough room to get kids(?) in the back for school runs etc?

Something like a VW UP/Polo or one of the smaller Pugs might do the trick?

A bit more information might help. Or is this a "worst 'I have an au pair' thread ever"

A friend of mine is a nanny and her car is a small 4x4, Suzuki Vitara I think. It had to be big enough for several dogs or the kids' bikes. Plus be able to handle the fields where the horses and cows are kept.

FFRR of course

Autobiography spec at least, maybe Autobiography Black if you want to keep a consistent 'feel' for the kids

I'd go for the Aston Martin Rapide.

Quite like these. You really need at least four doors.
Or maybe a G63 Merc. These have more boot space.

After getting bored with buying a hideous, end of life, runaround every year (106, Polo etc) I have just bought ours a classic mini. She loves it, the children love it and I don't feel like its just another grand chucked away

If she's carrying your kids around in it I'd want something with a 10-star NCAP rating and sod the rest smile

Toyota Yaris - 5 star NCAp and very reliable/economical (that's what I bought my eldest).

I think that in order to offer correct advice pics will be required ...

1st world problems eh!

Thanks for letting us all know you have an au pair OP - we are all deeply impressed.
i don't actually have an au pair. i just thought it would make a change from all the other what car threads.

An elderly Sharan is maybe a good idea, plenty of space for the kiddlywinks. A buddy of mine had au pairs when his lads were smaller often Czech chaps, they were usefull for mixing concrete and the Sharan could double as a van.

Pics of the correct nature are of course acceptable.
