Impossible to buy a new Audi Q5

Finding it impossible to buy a new Audi Q5 up here in the north east.

One of the main problems is that none of the local dealers have a new Q5 to look at... best they can do so far (4 visits) is a three year old used model.

Is this a problem nationwide?

Call Audi Corporate if you work for a mid-big company, they might drop you one off from corp fleet for 24-48 hours... Though it depends on a couple of factors.
