on the way to work

05.50

going down this road

up on the hill over the bridge on an S bend

come around the left hand blind curve to be confronted with this

https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&ll=53.377...

next to where the Ka is (was a mondeo today) is a plastic road barrier totally blocking the lane

car coming the over way, I stop easy as I was doing 30.

but anyone half awake or speeding with cars coming the over way could have issues, or if it was wet a motorcycle braking while still part leaned over could have been mega dangerous

I got around it and parked up just past it, walked back and move it on to the grass verge.

The lad on the scooter ahead of me must have had a nasty shock.

Sorry, but that's a built up area, with what looks to be a school etc.

Visibility looks pretty good to me, anyone who struggled to stop there is indeed a moron.

I am guessing its a 30 ?

I suspect the person who put the barrier up was someone tired of speeders.

I know you were going 30 but you need to be awake also.

all points exactly correct.

it is a school.

and I was awake and doing 30 or less.

2 wrongs don't make a right though, the person who placed the barrier was foolish at best.

The back of the Ka is still visible from the bridge https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&ll=53.377.... I don't see why anyone would get a nasty shock.

The cameras on a street view car is about twice as high as the drivers eyes so it might have been obscured from there but should be clear from just a few foot on. I agree, more than enough visibility for anyone below ludicrous speed.
