So you've got a budget of 30k for a Company Car.
What do you go for.........?

Diesel or Petrol, no cabriolets, 2 doors, has to be sensible as visiting customers etc.
Obviously don't want a thirsty high emissions vehicle which is obviously going to cost me an arm and a leg on the BIK tax.

Had Audi's & BMW's and these are just so common on these days............

Answers on a post card.

As a company car it'd be a 530d auto for me if you can get one in that budget.

Just how bad is an m135i on emissions? hehe

The 2 door it is unusual. You normally have to go for a four door in case you have to take customers with you.

I have the same situation myself at the moment and it's currently between a merc c220 CDI and a BMW 320 efficient dynamics to keep the tax as low as possible. My current car is a c class which I really like so I will probably go down that route.
If tax isn't a big issue look at a c250 CDI; a new c class comes out next march so mb are doing some offers at the moment and your budget may well stretch to one. I have had a couple as courtesy cars during service and they go very well (another good thing about mob is you don't get duff courtesy cars)

Hope this helps

I read it as no cabriolets or 2 doors - missing a comma maybe?

I took the car allowance last time I was in this position and bought a petrol, cabriolet, 2-doorbiggrin

Does it have to be brand new or could you get a 6-month old one i.e. are you choosing from a list or is it £30k cash ?

If it has to be brand new and someone else was paying the depreciation, I'd go for a Citroen C5.

Thinking the C Class Merc AMG or another BM but the efficiency dynamics one.
Actually like the Insygnia SRI Nav with the VXR kit on, they have done a 195bhp derv engine which is highly tempting even if it is a VX

I lied before. Not a C5 - I meant the DS5. There's one that lives near me & it's a lovely looking car with a fab looking interior (the one near me is all leathered up). Will no doubt depreciate like a cliff, but the Insignia will just blend in to a sea of dullness amongst the 3-series / A4s of this world. A mate of mine got an Insignia as a co. car & has spent the last 3 years trying to work out a way of getting rid of it.

With 30k don't buy an Insignia. This is coming from someone who has one on their driveway. It's ok, but ultimately very average.

An XF, or perhaps one of the new Volvo hybrids if they're within budget?

You're thinking of a C class AMG? If you get a C63 AMG as a company car that's fantastic... Or do you mean a normal C class with different trim bits?

Not bad at all on the auto. Just taxed mine for £200 for the year. Manual is £265 I believe.

Would defo be my choice if I had £30k of my employer's money to spend (seeing as I've done exactly that with my own money!)

But i do like this idea.
Shame that the cheap tax will be subsidised by the rest of us.

Me too, that's why I said it hehe

Like you see the plonkers with M badges in their 320d saloons. I always think if it didn't have an M badge on the back when it left the factory, it shouldn't ever have one. Begin to see more Mercs with AMG badges too now. Just yesterday I saw a C220 AMG diesel. Hmmm.

Jag if not bm or merc and if it fits in budget (surprised if it fits within p11d value if that's what your budget relates too..)

I went with a spec'd up 120d m sport with my £28.5k but appreciate that it's far from 'leftfield'

Golf GTD with loads of options - subtle, handles well, goes well, practical, not a 3-series. What's not to like?
