Forgotten, but was it for good reason?
Discussion
In this day and age where every new car is uglier than the last and all sporting an over bloated and often less cohesive visual appearance, it got me to thinking...
Isn't this actually a rather sleek, good looking car.

I'm not entirely sure why, but in the UK the Probe always seemed shunned. I guess trying to market it as the successor to the RWD Capri was always a flawed logic, but seeing as almost everything is FWD today, I'm less certain it's really an issue.
Performance might not have been Earth shattering, but the 2.5 V6 seems to claim 0-60mph in 8.5 secs and a top speed just shy of 140mph. These would seem fairly acceptable warm hatch figures today and back in the 1993 would certainly have been on, or above par with most other coupes and hot hatches.
In an unrelated a thread, another poster was claiming this engine is good for an easy 200hp. Which would certainly modernise the 24v's performance.
Very sleek dainty looks, ultra cool pop up headlights and practical 2+2 seating.
Should we be remembering these more fondly?

Why would we look at them more fondly when the s13 200sx was faster, handled better and looked nicer (IMHO) to boot?
So does this mean we should also hate or forget things like the Celica (even the MK7), the MKIII Supra, Puma, Alfa GTV, Golf GTI's, Mondeo ST220 and host of other cars which are also slower than the 200SX?300bhp/ton said:

It doesn't look "too bad" now because it never had enough identity to be offensive, squint your eyes and you could be looking at a mondeo. While fords everyday runabout cars of that era got away with being almost offensively bland stylewise most people looking for a coupe want something with a little more kapow about it.

Hateful looking car, it will only ever be that horrible coupe thing Ford tried to sell as the replacement for the Capri, and for much the same reason the Cougar is hateful for the same reason. Car design at some of its worst.
Agreed. It's the peak of 90s bland blobby design. Plus as already stated above, Gareth Cheeseman had one
