Driving along behind a lorry just now and a stone hopped up into the windscreen - only a little one and it didn't hit the windscreen hard enough to chip it - but it stayed there, bouncing up and down on the wiper; rather distracting. So eventually I stuck the wiper on - cue excruciating noise as it dragged the stone across the windscreen and left a nice arch shaped scratch.

Anyone know how much a windscreen is for an E91?! It's taken a bit of a hammering recently.

that's usually what windscreen replacement costs under insurance.

The trouble is, it's peppered with chips but all are very small with no sign of cracking. Also slightly worried that a replacement world stuff up the auto wipers and up the premium (it's still a claim!).

Last time I had a replacement windscreen on the insurance (Direct Line) it cost £75.00 and didn't make a blind bit of difference to my NCB or the premium.

They get a windscreen which will have the auto wipers sensor etc. it may be a claim and mine does appear on my insurance yes. But when they asked if I had any claims and replied a windscreen, the guy just said oh we don't care about them.

With regards to it not being chipped/cracked yet, do you have any kids who like throwing stones? Just make sure they don't miss hehe

Windscreen claims don't affect NCB.

When I worked at a broker, a client had a windscreen claim on some flavour of JDM Impreza - windscreen had to be specially imported, total bill came to about £3.5K; insurers argued it didn't come under the Glass section, but eventually they caved and stood by it, no effect on NCB.
